[The Listserve] Password Reset
Of course I'm away from home when I received the message, "you've won the Listserve." So here I am with 20 minutes to spare and have nothing...mainly because I had what I wanted written on some journal I have.
So instead I get to share some random thoughts with you.
I joined the Listserve in 2015 and about 2 weeks after I joined I received an email that one of you sent and it changed my life…because it basically helped me relearn the same lesson that I’ve been learning and continue to learn. That I am the scariest thing in my story. I don’t know if it’s true for you all but it’s true for me.
A few things:
People are not always nice and that’s okay.
People come in and out of your life, if they’ve left try not to hold on too hard, sometimes you have to loosen your grip. I think about my relationships as a solar system, I’ve found it very useful.
I create characters online / write stories to help me get through things, some have helped and others have backfired so much that some things I think have retreated farther into the depths of my body than they should have.
Question I’ve been wondering, I’m positive the answer is yes but I’m going to ask anyways: Is there anything that you all don’t talk about/pretend never happened even if you know the only way you’ll probably ever get over it is if you talk about it? Sometimes I actually believe things never happened, other times it’s the only thing on my mind. I don’t know if that made any sense.
I recently returned from a six week backpacking trip across Europe. What I learned: you can’t see everything. In fact, my favorite part of the entire trip was in Prague. I met some other people on a free walking tour and the day after we decided to spend the day together exploring, getting lost and then found our way to biergarten where we sat for hours eating kebabs and drinking cider mixed with beer. It was simple. I’ll treasure that memory and those people for the rest of my life.
I’m already planning my next trip so if you all have any places that are a must see let me know!
Also if you have any advice about life, I am always in need of life advice.
My dad asked me to include his favorite quote: “It’s better to be silent and thought a fool than to speak and prove it.”
+ I’m not sure, but I may be a fool.
